Pureland Reiki Retreats
Livigno, Italy June-July 2015

Come and spend some time with the Pureland Reiki team in the Italian Alps, where each day will be a serene flow of relaxation, meditation, Reiki, Qi Gong and hiking.

With a spacious and moderna villa as our Alpine outpost, we will take in the silence of the mountains and the warmth of Italy, with time each day for looking inside and watering the seeds of joy. Three delicious vegetarian meals a day and casually luxurious accomodation make this a great value holiday!

The Villa: Nestled perfectly in the middle of the Livigno valley, this private villa was built in the 1970’s as a meditation and family retreat centre. The space is a symphony of casual luxury, equipped with plush amenities but also down-to-earth. The theme is Alpine-meets-Modern with a massive great room and fantastic views. The mysterious Vago Mountain at the end of the valley is framed perfectly on one side of the villa, and to the other side you see the village of Livigno. Running alongside the Villa is a mountain stream perfect for a bracing morning swim, as well as a municipal walking and biking path which leads to a Stone Sculpture park. Livigno boasts dozens of hiking trails, the closest of which begins steps from the front door.

Dinner is served by candle light, and we drink a few glasses of wine on some (but not all) nights. On the menu are Italian, French, Indian, Chinese, Greek and Thai options which include eggs and dairy.

We use organic ingredients whenever possible, and gluten-free options will be available. If you have any specific dietary requests, please notify us.

WiFi and Phone Policy: The Villa has a good WiFi connection, but as WiFi is not life-sustaining we switch it off when we are not using it. Our retreats have twice-daily WiFi switch-on times, so you can stay connected as necessary. Cell phone reception is good and we ask that you switch off or silence your device during meditation.

Livigno: Known as “Little Tibet” to locals because of its high altitude, Livigno remained an untouristed hamlet until the 1970’s. When a tunnel was built allowing access for the construction of a local dam, the world ‘discovered’ Livigno.
Because of its late blooming in the tourism industry, Livigno is a vibrant example of Alpine living, with building restrictions in place to ensure it retains its character. The Livignaschi or town locals are known for their casual warmth and friendly attitude.

The town has a duty-free tax denomination, and many people flock to Livigno to purchase mobile phones, gadgets, sport goods, perfume, petrol, etc. Wondrously enough, some of these shoppers don't even make it onto the hiking trails, so the paths are uncrowded but peppered with the occasional friendly nature lover.

One of your retreat hosts, Allegra, grew up visiting Livigno every year because her grandfather came from the neighboring valley, so you will have a local guide as well as plenty of information about Livigno's services.

Livigno charms many people into a repeat visit!
